Terra Felix La Vie en Rose 2011

Gee, there’s a lot to like about this rosé.  Quite a deep pink in colour, it has aromatics of red apple, plum skins and yellow nectarine skins.  In fact, I think it has a deeper colour than a 2011 pinot noir from the Yarra Valley currently on my review bench.

The palate is quite fruit driven – for a rosé – surprising with its depth of flavour, yet remaining resolutely and pleasingly dry.  Medium acid, refreshing textured red apples and blood plums, with a nice chewy and savoury texture.   Made from mourvèdre grapes, this wine is I think something of a winner.  It’s a yes from me.  Good to Very Good
